Business Communication Programs

Business Communication Programs is part of the Department of Marketing in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Our mission is to equip undergraduate and graduate students with the knowledge, abilities, and resources they need to communicate effectively in a wide variety of business situations. Our course objectives ensure that students achieve their professional goals by developing the communication skills required to compete successfully in today’s fast-paced, global marketplace.

Courses

Business Communication Programs offers a curriculum that provides a realistic balance between communication theory and business practice. Our courses emphasize business writing, oral presentations, nonverbal communication, cross-cultural communication, the small-group process, and the impact of ethics and technology on communication; and they prepare students to communicate effectively in a rapidly growing global workplace. Faculty

The Business Communication faculty is highly qualified to teach the variety of undergraduate and graduate communication courses offered by the Department of Marketing. In addition to their academic backgrounds and work experience, faculty members consult regularly with organizations on communication issues, including corporate communication structures, business writing and speaking, meeting management, and interpersonal communication skills. They are also active participants in professional organizations such as the Association for Business Communication and the National Communication Association, and they are frequent speakers in the college, in the university, and in the community.

Women’s Leadership Forum »

Business Communication Programs contributes to Robinson College students’ professional development by sponsoring the Women’s Leadership Forum in partnership with the Department of Marketing and the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Once a year, the forum invites corporate leaders to gather to share their insights about a wide range of business-related topics and to provide a unique networking opportunity for students, faculty, and other members of Atlanta’s business community.
