Scholarships Offered Through the Department of Marketing

Chick-fil-A Outstanding Marketing Student Scholarship
Endowed in 2012 to honor the 30-year relationship between Chick-fil-A and Dr. Ken Bernhardt, this scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in marketing with high academic performance, outstanding character, and a high likelihood of a successful career in marketing. Preference will be given to students who are employed, or previously employed, by Chick-fil-A. One scholarship of $1,000 is awarded per calendar year.
Marketing Roundtable Outstanding Minority Student Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to underrepresented minority students currently enrolled in a marketing course, pursuing a degree in marketing, with high academic standing, with a high expectation of success in pursuing a career in marketing. Qualified students will have a minimum grade point average of 3.0., and be nominated and supported by marketing faculty members. A maximum of six scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded per calendar year.
Martin Sherry/Atlanta Broadcast Advertising Club Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an exceptional student in advertising in the marketing department of the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. Criteria include academic scholarship, interest and talent in the field, leadership, and character. Specifically, the scholarship is awarded based on genuine financial need, and scholastic achievement (3.0 GPA in major). Recipients must be Georgia residents who will not have graduated when the scholarship is received. One scholarship of $1,000 is awarded per calendar year.
Richard Hammill Outstanding Marketing Student Scholarship
This scholarship was created to honor Richard Hammill, past senior vice president of marketing at The Home Depot. Recipients of the award must be currently majoring in marketing, have demonstrated financial need, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and show a high potential for a successful career in marketing. One scholarship of $1,000 is awarded per calendar year.
Sales Executive Roundtable (SERT)
The Sales Executive Roundtable (SERT) of the marketing department of the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University created two scholarships in 2014. Consideration will be given to currently registered students who have taken, or are currently taking, a sales course in the Department of Marketing and who have expressed an interest in pursuing a career in sales. This scholarship requires a student to demonstrate high academic achievement, and to demonstrate basic sales competencies as required for qualification for national sales competition to be considered. Two scholarships awarded per calendar year; $1,000 each.
